Editorial Guidelines & Software Review Standards
Quality Commitment • FileCobra
1. Direct Upstream Sourcing
FileCobra indexes and mirrors binaries sourced directly from verified developer repositories (such as official GitHub Releases, verified open-source publisher sites, and authentic upstream APK distributions). We do not repackage binaries with third-party wrappers, download managers, or toolbars.
2. Cryptographic Hash Verification
Where we hold a release record for a package, we publish the SHA-256 digest of the exact file we serve, so you can verify the download locally before running it. That covers most of the catalogue but not all of it; where we hold no digest, the page says so rather than showing a placeholder.
3. Antivirus Scanning
FileCobra operates no antivirus lab and runs no multi-engine scans, so no scan verdict on this site is ours to report. Where a publisher or a third party has published a VirusTotal report for the exact file we serve, we link it. Otherwise, upload the file to VirusTotal yourself — it takes seconds and the result is one you can trust rather than take on our word.
4. Zero Deceptive UI
We believe in high-utility software distribution without deceptive "Fake Download" ads or forced subscriptions. All download mirrors provide direct access to the requested executable or archive.
